a big 'THANKS' card

Image
I love getting little gifts and each time I like to make a card as thanks.  On this occasion a friend made us some Feijoa  chutney.  Yum and yes I realise that you may not have heard of Feijoa's but here in NZ they are bountiful this time of the year and we are always trying to find new ways to cook and enjoy them.    My favourite is cut in half and spooning out the centre, however a chutney with crackers and cheese, together with a nice glass of vino is just as good.      For this thank you card I used the Feeling Sketch #145 challenge   And here is the result. And as always I have made an envelope to go with it.   The card itself is 6x6.  I used hessian and a wide fabric ribbon for the centre section ad embellished with a couple of flowers and a cut down prima tag.  I used thickers for the sentiment.   I hope you like it. Happy scrapping. J

A day at the beach - Lets Scrap sketch challenge 05-15-16

Image
Enjoying summer while we can.  Spent the day at the beach with the boys and some friends.  The kids spent hours taking photos as the sun slowly disappeared.   Which meant the perfect photos for this double layout challenge from Lets Scrap And here is my take on the sketch.  In this shot the layout is folded to a 12x12 And this is the layout opened.  The left hand page folds in half which than allows you to fold at the centre.   I stencilled the base pages using a prima stencil      I used some beautiful prima flowers (my favourites)   And I used kindy glits to highlight the flowers, leaves and hearts that I cut out. I hope you like the layout H appy scrapping. J

Lets Scrap sketch challenge for 5-1-16

Winter is nearly here and although I will miss the warmth of the sun for a few months it is a good reason to stay inside and craft.  This months first challenge from Lets Scrap is this great sketch from the talented Michelle: And here is my take on the sketch: I used some Alice in wonderland and the Mad Hatter papers from Kaiser craft  Arahi is my hat boy,  he loves them.  So rather than a side by side the layouts is folded to be back to back in the album  I fussy cut sections of the papers to add some dimension.         I hope you like.  Happy scrapping J
