Lets Scrap Sketches - Challenge 3-15-16

One thing that I love about sketches is that it alleviates the one thing that can be a struggle and that is the initial layout plan.  A sketch takes that first step away. Here is my take on the wonderful sketch challenge for Lets Scrap Challenge 3-15-16   I used a Kaiser craft paper with I distressed the edges and then stencilled with a coarse textured paste.   Each photo is matted twice,  the first being a fine sand paper, and then the bottom matt was wet and scrunched up and then flattened out.    I was originally going to use real shells on the layout and although I love lumpy bumpy layouts,  it would have cause an issue placing into an album so I took a photo of the shells and then cut them out for the layout, hence the reason they look so real.    I did use some tiny paua shells pieces and tiny pipi shells for the final embellishments.   I embossed the little crabs and I cut the sea weed free hand.   Hope you like the layout and I can't

Now this is a challenge with a little difference: The main rules:  Most importantly, make sure YOU are in the photo that you include in your layout. Layouts must be newly created for this challenge ( no back linking ). Only 12x12 or 8x10  paper layouts  will be accepted. This is a real challenge for most scrapper as they are usually the one behind the camera.  Here is my take of this months Challenge Yourself This was taken a few years ago now but it was the first glass of wine after a long break of not drinking and being really good trying not to eat too much sugar etc. Love the 'Simple Stories' papers Here was the challenge Happy scrapping J

I had some great news this week, I was selected to join the Lets Scrap Design team,  I am so honoured and excited to be part of such a talented group of ladies.    I had joined in on a couple of the sketch challenges and just loved the challenge of doing the double layouts.   And sketches are such a great way to take the guess work out of where to place photos.     Now for the great sketch by Mich,  and my first layout as a design team member.  And here is my take on the sketch. I created 3 mini albums within the layout which opens up to reveal more photos.     I love all the photos of the big and little men in my life. So it can be hard to pick which ones I want to scrap so when it come to a multi photo layouts I have to stop myself (LOL) from trying to put too many.  The beauty of including a little mini album is that you can add more photos. Handy hint :  I know that often the worry is placing a layout that has interactive sections in an album because you
