Stuck?! Sketches August 15 2016 Challenge: Note to Self "STAY CLEAN" Layout

Image
I have wanted to scrap this photo for a while now and I found the perfect single page sketch to help me on my way:  My inspiration is from the Stuck?! Sketches challenge blog. The sketch And here is my layout. For this layout I used a Kaiser paper from the "key to my heart" collection and some Prima embellishments and I also recycled some of the packaging. First I stencilled the paper and recycled some packaging:   I always try to have a base plan however often the  layout turns  out quite different. I place my pieces just to  check that it looks OK, if all good ( above is my draft layout) then I put the layout together,  here are some close ups:  You will note I decided against the banner behind the photo and instead I used a clip frame which I inked and cut in half and placed at either end of the photo  I placed one of recycled Prima packaging card behind the photo and below is the other packaging that I made into a tag.

The second of the Lets Scrap August challenges.  And here is the sketch from the talented Michelle. And here is my take: Some great times at home and at the beach with my oldest and youngest boys.  Each side section can be opened to reveal more photos and journaling.  I included a couple of tags that I have stencilled and inked I did a little of everything on this layout, stamping, inking and stencilling .     Hope you like it.  Would love to see your take on this sketch. A Thank you and Farewell card for the Teacher

Image
I am sure we all have them, you know,  one of those nights when one of the children tells you at 9.00pm, he would like a farewell card for the School librarian who is leaving tomorrow.  Yes tomorrow!  Here it is,  probably one of the quickest cards I have made in a while.    And yes,  a card that every one in the class can sign.  The inside section folds open to a 12 inch journaling panel for the kids.  As the inside section made the card a little chunky,  I included a ribbon tie.   Well, it could have been worse,  he could have told me in the morning. Happy crafting J

Lets Scrap Sketches 8-1-16 challenge

Image
The first of the Lets Scrap August challenges.  And this time an opportunity to scrap a layout of Arahi, the oldest of the McLachlan clan. Here is the sketch from the talented Michelle. and here is my take.  Arahi loves bright colours so a winter yellow was a good choice for him.      And unlike some I like flowers on layout whether it is for a boy or a girl. I love this photo of Gregor and Arahi.       I used Bo Bunny papers and embellishments with prima letters and flowers.  I double matted each photo with stampin up cardstock.   Hope you like the layout,  can't wait to see your take on the sketch.    Happy crafting.
