June - Play date

Image
'Play date' this Thursday.  A day of scrap booking and card making.  I hope to get at least 3 layouts completed (one being a double layout)  and Matching cards with all the left over pieces.   And of course good food and great conversation.   So much has happened since last time we got together.   Will blog the results, watch this space.     Here are the possible layouts that I will do on the day from my ideas journal.  (my apologies for the quality of the photos)

40 minute layout - Tira: nine years

Image
I have so many photos and bits and pieces that I have purchased over the last  couple of years that I have challenged myself to attempt to use as much of these as possible.     This is a 40 minute layout:  Time between the boys going to bed and Gregor finishing his training:   Materials - Kaiser Paper and misc chipboard leaves and rub ons. Stampin up inks and crystal effect.

40 minute layout - Us three

Image
Rolled sections of the top portion of the patterned paper and used the left overs strips for the quilling at the bottom of the page.    Misc papers and a selection of Buttons kindly donated by Gregor's mother.

40 minute layout - New life

Image
I just got my Big shot butterflies dies and couldn't wait,  so did 40 minute layout while the boys were eating dinner.     I used the die and an embossing folder for the butterflies.   Chalked the edges and chalked a few butterfly images down the side.   Place a little bling and Thickers for the title.

First Communion

Image
Teghan and Corbans first Communion.     I used a scrolled matt for the photo.   I made a little envelope to house the details of all the children's name who were   taking first communion.

KIN- Arahi and Uncle Andy

Image
Buttons, lots of buttons. 20 Minute layout with the boys helping.      Arahi picked the photo and this is his favorite one of Uncle Andy and him. Tira picked the paper and buttons.

It's all in his eyes

Nice relaxing evening at home.  All the boys were in bed and Gregor was taking a senior class. So I had about an hour to scrap before being interrupted.  Here is the result.    I love this paper.  Imaginations  - brush strokes. (Plus Blue and black card stock) I placed some beads around the frame and then used kindy glitz to highlight the photo matt  and the some of the sections of patterned paper.

'Thank you' card pack

Image
Here is a card pack that I made today using the Big Shot to cut out the circles.   The stamp pack is Stampin Up's - Vintage Vogue.   Closed, the different size circles layer each other.  Two brads allow the card to rotate open to reveal the card message.  Great card to any occasion.   And photos taken by Tira.  As always, happy to do a Card making session.

Felt flowers

Image
The boys helped cut out the flower shapes from scrap pieces of felt.. Unfortunately they didn't help with the sewing on of the buttons and flower layers.   The layout border and photo frame are free hand.     I have also been busy finishing off some cards that I will upload over the weekend

Hail

Image
This was a photo taken of Tira standing outside in a hail shower trying  to catch the hail in his mouth.       I used some Denim in the layout  and hand stitching to join the patterned paper

All about Safety

Image
A quite evening, children in bed and Gregor training so time to relax and scrap.  Going through my stash and I hate to say it, I have embellishments that I can't remember purchasing or what I was going to use them on.  So this was a good opportunity to use some (felt branch, half used packets of bling and letters).  I also used SU papers from their latest mini catalogue.     These photos are from a couple of weekends ago (when it wasn't raining) and Arahi wanted to practice on his bike and for Gregor it was all about safety so helmets all round.     Only one little crash and that was because Kiwa decided that he could go down hill by himself.  Not such a good move.  Tomorrow is an evening of Card making - Will blog the out come.
