My Scrap Stash - Upcycling, recycling and repurposing: the start.

Image
It is a little daunting when I look my scrapbooking stash but I have to start somewhere  so this is the beginning of the re-organisation of my space and material.  I have a living list of things to produce so that I can actually start utilising all my  scrapbooking material and other stuff I have at my finger tips.   My starter for 10:  Paper scrap embellishments Junk Journal embellishments Envelopes Paper clip pockets Paper flowers Word tags Tags Junk journals mini journals card packs  This morning I found several rolls of old wall paper cira 1970s, which I have cut into workable sheets of 12x12.  I also found some old music sheets, dress pattern paper and old airmail envelopes.   Made some mini envelopes and pockets out of old cereal packaging           And made some flowers from some old book pages.   phew, time to sit back.   Happy crafting J

Thanks - Upcycle recycled cards

Every time I attempt to organize my craft room I am truly amazing at how much product I actually have and are yet to use.    I even have papers that I brought because they are beautiful and are just too nice to cut.   So from now on I am going to limit my purchases exception tapes and glues.  And use what I already have or upcycle/repurpose items that are not traditional card and layout material.   So here are a couple of cards that I made using  cardstock, packing paper, wall paper, hessian,   dried flowers and leaves, with a little metallic butterfly and owl on each.  I hope you like them.       These are the challenges I am joining this month,  click the links to view the other creations.   Path of Positivity challenge dd-tripleb Creative Fingers challenge Here is a place to start Happy crafting J

Gift wrapping - recycling

Image
It is quickly coming up to my favourite time of the year, so time to prep my wrapping accessories.  Here are my go to gift box embellishments.  I make them from old egg cartons or toilet rolls.    Every flower is different and some time I paint or spray and some I leave ala-natural  They just give the gift box something a little special.  So my gift wrapping stash begins. Happy crafting J

Thank you cards

It was really relaxing making these cards.  For the Leisure March NI 2023, I made thank you cards for each person who helped with the marching event. Happy crafting.

Wow, it’s been a while

Quick post just to show case a couple of things I have completed recently.   The  Leisure Marching team I am a member, hosted the 2023 North Island display day and as part of the weekend we put on an evening event.  The theme was ‘She will go to the Ball’ and I agreed to help with the table settings for the evening.   These are the table centre pieces I made.  40 in total made from stiletto shoes, painted and decorated with blue glitter.   I used pool noodles as a base within each shoe,  to allow me to add flowers and other bling.  I made some of the flowers,  but also purchase some.  The silver bases were made by another member of the team.  The dinning table prior to. Boxes them up for their final journey. These are the tickets I made for the ball.  Each teams tickets were wrapped in a box. Happy crafting

Upcycling the every day envelope

Image
I still get snail mail from those companies that still like that personal contact with their customers and because I can not bring myself to just recycle the envelope and have decided to make them useful again,  at least for a short time or if the person who receives it is like me they will have a junk journal to put it in, for memory sake.  Here's  what I created.  And the process:   The envelope..... I washi taped the edges, and scrap matted the front and back of the envelope....   love the envelope window I am going to make a card to go in the envelope.   A card that enhances the window, I think.  Hope you like.  Happy crafting J

Junk journal weekend

Unfortunately I got an early start this morning as my neighbor decided at 5.30am to wake everyone up with 30 minutes of fireworks. I was n ot a very happy person as this is usually the only day I get to sleep in.   So after not being able to get back to sleep,  as my mind was too busy thinking of ways to get him back, I got up and found my happy place by doing some crafting.  The results:  An envelope journal and a one sheet (12x12) fold-away journal And how you ask? Well here are some photos I prepared earlier:  The envelope journal is a repurposed A4 envelope:     The second journal is from a 12 by 12 piece of card stock.   Embellishments added   closed Opened   OK,  time for a nap.  Happy crafting.
