Journal Scroll
I feel like I say this a lot but it has been awhile.
Life has been so busy over the last 2 year so I have decided that it is now time to actually slow down a little and do some of the things I love to do.
Over last 3 months I have attempted to reorganise my craft room(s) and although I have come a long way there is still a ways to go. Definitely work in progress.
As a starter I have reduced some of the extra things I have taken on over the years, in the hope to simplify my life. So now hopefully I have a little more time to do more crafting. I am also very inspired by a recent FB page I have joined and this morning I was up bright and early to start my weekend project. Thinking it would take me 2 days but managed to get a lot done to today, which was nice and relaxing. Here is the result.
My Journal Scroll.
A quick overview:
Using my stash, I stamp dyed some 7x10 sheets of plain cream paper.
Using my stash, I stamp dyed some 7x10 sheets of plain cream paper.
Once dried (thanks to my handy dandy hot gun) I embellished with some scrap papers.
Leaving some spots for journaling and including a little hand embroidery piece from a card my mother-in-law had given me.
To ensure that I don't have any pieces lifting once the scroll is unrolled I secured the paper by stitching around the papers with the sewing machine. .
I then joined them together, again sewing a scrap paper piece between each page.
The final stage was to add some little additional touches and
then I attached a button and cord to wrap the scroll.
Here it is the final scroll:
