This photo is of Kiwa with a pair of fake glasses on.  LOL, he looked so cute, he wore them for about a week off and on.  Even took them to school.   I used a scrap layout sketch challenge for February from The Studio Challenges as inspiration. A couple close ups for fun.     included in  the challenge was to place a heart on the layout as a little twist as for Valentine's day.   Happy scrapping. J

Feeling Sketchy Sketch #139 - Wedding card

Image
A young couple we have known for many years are getting married next week and instead of presents they have asked that people select a gift from a list of native trees they are wanting for their new property.  Fantastic idea,  so I have select a couple of native Kowhai trees, and rather than attempting to take the trees along with me to the wedding, I have taken a couple of photos that I will place in this card.   The inspiration for this card is from Feeling Sketchy card challenge.  and here is the sketch The paper is Kaiser Craft and I used a stamp from 'Seasonally Scattered' from stampin up which I embossed. I will make a matching envelope for the card. Happy scrapping. Update:  My card was the winning card for the challenge.  Nice. Many thanks to feeling sketchy for providing the challenge. J

Feeding Time Layout for Lets Scrap sketches 2-15-16

After a busy day driving to Wellington and back for a very quick meeting it was nice to relax and unwind with an evening with the girls doing some scrapbooking.  As a challenge I sent out the current challenge from Lets Scrap sketches  early this week to get the creative juices flowing.    Here is my take on the following sketch. I used some photos from a trip to Nga Manu wildlife park. where the kids got to feed the eels. I used paper from Kaiser as the base and then I used misc papers from my stash.    Together with Prima letters and flowers      Happy scrapping. J

'Waiting' Layout - Lets get sketchy week 2 challenge

Image
OK here is my first layout for the weekly challenge blog   Lets get sketchy And this is the sketch I used Kaiser paper from the Art of Life range.   I love this photo of Tira when he was about 18 months old he would sit in the window and watch the cars go past waiting for Dad to come home.      I machine stitched the embellishments on to the base paper and then layered photo on to the page.  Happy scrapping J

Feeling Sketchy - Challenge #138

Image
This is the card challenge for the month of February for Feeling Sketchy Here is my take on this sketch and as I have promised myself to used material from my scrap stash for cards this year so the embellishments are a mix match of brands.  I used a tag as the base and built the embellishments    This card is 8" x 4 1/2 " I like cards that can be used for any occasion so the sentiment is generic.   It is what is written on the inside that really counts. Hope you like it. Happy scrapping J

Here is the Challenge for this month from Lets Scrap Sketches And this is my take on the sketch, which I have created a slightly more masculine layout. I love these photos,  the boys didn't actually want to wash Gregor car but after about 2 minutes the fun begin and what should have take 10 minutes took about 30.     The layout base is on card stock that I stencilled, sprayed, inked and gesso'ed.   (See below for more detailed photos)  Fun memories remembering when Kiwa's smile after his baby teeth were gone.  Stage One:    Stencilled                                  Sprayed    Inked                        ...
