The lion hunt - layout 5 from scrap camp

Image
With the following layout I wanted to give it a bit of a digital look.  I stamped the cardstock with butterflies and flowers.  I then embellished with prima flowers and used the fab big shot for the butterflies and leaves.

Black, Red and cream: Double layout

Image
I love the colours in this double layout.  This was inspired by the Origami folded album (photos below) that I did of the boys earlier this year:   I wanted to use some bling flourishes but I didn't have any so instead I used a Black lead paint and placed some rhinestones along the stems.  I used scallop circle flowers and paper rolls for the other embellishments.        This the origami folded album and storage box.        This album is made from origami folded photo frames.  Each page one 12x12 piece of patterned page so not a low cost album but very worth in the long run.  I will post the instruction in the next couple of weeks.

Scrap camp update

Image
What a great weekend.  There were around 28 attendees for scrap camp this year which is organised and run by the lovely ladies from Scrap2Max: http://www.scrapbookin2dmax.co.nz/ .  The camp is held at Pukeora near Waipukurau.   This was the view that we saw each morning from the scrap room: I completed 15 layouts over the weekend and a mini album.  So over the next few days I will update my blog with some of these.  This evening, of course, is catch up time with my boys and to hear about their wonderful weekend without me.   Here are just a couple to start with:

ATC's and Scrap Camp prep

Image
Only 5 days to go and Scrap camp will be here.  I have prepared 15 kits to make over the weekend and will possible take a couple of other projects just in case.  Can't wait.    I have also made some ATC's to share and some favours to hand out.     These are small note pads in a range of different colour, with a paper sleeve and small flower.  The kids and I made the flowers by using a scallop punch.    (Easy and quick - I will probably make these for the St James Gala in September.)        The ATC's are from an assortment of patterned papers, stamps and crystal effects.  I made the ATC book to hold the cards.  This was made from 1 piece of 12x12 cardstock and Patterned paper cover chipboard for the cover.   I used an assortment of ribbons and wool to decorate the book.

Memories of you

After the first week of winter being pretty warm for Palmerston North the weather is starting to chill and yes, even more reason to stay in doors and scrap.  In this layout I used only a couple sheets of card stock, scraps of paper and misc embellishments from my scrap stash.  I used glimmer mist to mask the scallop circle on the White card stock and then used 6 pieces of scrap paper which I layer on to the layout.  I used Crystal effect to bling the edge of the masked area.          The tag is made from a stampin up hodgepodge piece filled with crystal effects and pearl jewels.

Hannah and the boys

This was the third and final layout from our Play date: The Result                                      The Plan     A couple of little challenges on the way.  Glimmer Mist does not dry quickly and if you have covered a large area the paper may buckle a little as it dries.  So anyway, ironed the card stock, first problem solved.    Second problem:  Forgot to take along my pink bling, so instead I improvised using some Kindy glitter with a couple of squirts of Brick coloured glimmer mist.  Then carefully added the patterned to the cardstock Also I found a transparency in my stash of goods that works well on the layout

Here are the results of todays Play date:                                             The plan                                             The result                     The plan                                        The result                                                                             Close ups   I did have plans to do another layout but the glimmer mist did not dry in time, so I will finish...
